Pharmacists & Pharmacy Services

A hospital clinical pharmacist is a vital member of the health care team. He or she is a drug expert who routinely interacts with your team of doctors and nurses to ensure that you receive safe and effective prescription medicines.

Our pharmacists implement important measures and time proven interventions that minimize and eliminate any adverse drug events. They are responsible for the quality, safety, purity and efficacy of all medications that will be administered to you. For your protection, all medications are dispensed only by the MMC Pharmacy.

Makati Med’s inpatient pharmacy is open 24 hours a day. The outpatient pharmacy is open everyday from 6am to 9pm. For any concerns about your medication needs, you may contact Pharmacy Services Department at LOCAL 7162 / 16.

Mail

Mail is delivered to your hospital room. After your discharge, mail will be forwarded to your home.

Pain Management

At Makati Med, we understand that pain is an inextricable part of illness—and that it may be intractable or excruciating.

Our Pain Control Clinic offers services to people–both those confined and outpatients—experiencing all kinds of pain: acute or chronic, constant or intermittent, mild or severe.

We use a multidisciplinary approach to help you manage simple back, neck, or headaches, post-operative pain, or even the more excruciating cancer pain. Our approach combines anesthesiology, neurology, alternatives such as acupuncture, and even counseling and support.

Blood Transfusions

All blood used at Makati Medical Center comes from volunteer donors. Please speak to your physician about whether a blood transfusion is anticipated. You can use blood obtained from volunteer community donors (Community Donor), from friends or relatives (Designated Donor), or, if appropriate, your own blood (Autologous Donor).

Automated Teller Machines

ATMs are available in the hospital’s main lobby and in the ground floor beside the New Wing Elevator.

Cafeteria/ Restaurant

There are enough eating places at Makati Med.

There is a cafeteria at the first floor, near the Laboratory Department. This is open daily from 6:30am to 8pm, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Dial “7800” from your hospital room for a recording of daily menus in the cafeteria.

The Floating Island Restaurant is found at the 3rd floor near the Heart Station. For room delivery, you may dial “66” from an in-house phone. The Floating Island Express is also located at the 3rd floor, open until 12 midnight.

During daytime, candy, snack and magazine carts are found at 2nd and 3rd floor lobby near the elevators

Lost & Found

Lost and unclaimed articles are turned in to Housekeeping Office. Call Housekeeping Office at “8153” from in-house phone to inquire about lost items, or to return one. You may also take a look at bulletin boards of the hospital for posting of found items.

Vending Machines

On different floors of Makati Med, you will find vending machines that offer beverages, snacks and pre-paid cell phone load cards.

Support Staff

Aside from your care team of physicians, nurses and orderlies, various other experienced personal undertake non-clinical functions that contribute to your treatment, healing and to your pleasant stay at Makati Med. This includes the staff of the Admissions Office, Billing, Credit & Collection, Medicare and Philhealth Care Programs and Housekeeping.
